Plastic Free Body Exfoliator | Tabitha Eve Body Buff Review

Ad | I was gifted this product in exchange for an honest review

When Tabitha Eve reached out to me to see if I was willing to try and review one of their latest launches, I was so excited. I’ve been a longtime fan of their products, especially their reusable cotton makeup rounds (which are superior, by the way).

Where can you find an eco-friendly body exfoliator?

I have spent a lot of time trying to find eco-friendly body exfoliator products that are physical, not just a scrub type product you wash down the drain (along with the money you spent). It’s tough to find a natural exfoliator mitt that is plastic-free, as they seem to be the only option, but I was wrong! Enter Tabitha Eve.

They just launched yet another everyday sustainable care item that, after testing, I will be keeping in my arsenal of eco-friendly products. The Body Buff None Sponge arrived in the slimmest envelope. I nearly thought it was another bank statement through the letterbox. But thanks to compression, the packaging needs, and therefore the carbon footprint, is reduced.

At that point, I hadn’t even used the product yet, and I was impressed. Tabitha Eve are not only trying to make things right when it comes to the product; they’re looking at making things right down to sustainable shipping, packaging and beyond.

It was perfect timing, too. I hadn’t shaved my legs in a long time (we’ve all been there, especially during covid) and the sun hasn’t visited London for more than 30 min over the last week. It’s safe to say my legs are still in hibernation. As soon as I got my hands on this exfoliator, I got right to it (apart from taking some embarrassing before photos).

Review of the Tabitha Eve Body Buff None Sponge

This thin, lightweight, plastic-free sponge came to life as I ran it under the water in my shower. I used it alongside my favorite body soap by Faith in Nature and they played well together. The sponge got nice and foamy while it exfoliated.

The core is made out of plants, which is exciting for anyone breaking up with plastic. It’s the perfect size because it fits the length of my hand. Plus it has a handy strap (pun intended) to keep you attached when you slough away dead skin (sustainably).

The materials used on this body exfoliator include cotton and linen- the two give a goldilocks style roughness. Not too rough, not too soft. I think the accurate test for this (hilariously) was testing a scrub over a bug bite on my leg. Absolutely satisfying, not raw, and 100% weird but you know what? You can’t say you don’t relate.

The results: testing and washing the Tabitha Eve natural exfoliator

My legs, after this scrub, shave and some moisturizer thanked me with a subtle glow (despite the lack of sun I’ve had this year, summer of 2020, we miss you). It gave me smooth skin, ready for self-tanner and anything the day throws at me. I can safely say that I will continue to use this natural exfoliator year-round.

When I say year-round, I mean it because the care on this product is super easy. It’s machine washable- so you can pop it in at around 40 degrees Celsius (or around 100 degrees Fahrenheit for my Americans). I even tested this just to be sure and here is a comparison on the before and after below.

If you’re like me and love to buy sustainable things you know will biodegrade when you’re done using it, this is the body exfoliator for you. And because I worked with Tabitha Eve on making this review possible, I have a special 10% off coupon for you if you’re keen to join the Tabitha Eve fam. You should pop some of their Makeup Rounds in while you’re at it. Thank me later. 😉
