The Best Reusable Coffee Cups I've Tried

Making small changes to your everyday life will be more impactful than you think. Currently, Brittain uses 2.5 Billion single-use coffee cups a YEAR. If you like to think we’re all doing the right thing by recycling them, here’s the catch. You can’t always recycle food and drink stained cardboard and only one in 400 cups end up being recycled1.  With Lockdown lifts upon us, we’ll soon be able to return to, the beloved, reusable cup.

If you’re looking for an easy switch, or perhaps your first eco-friendly swap, investigating a new reusable coffee cup is a fab place to start! Not only are there several material and shape options on the market, but there are also so many color and design choices that make picking out a coffee cup as fun as picking out a nail polish. Likewise, the ergonomics and structural design of these cups also cater to certain lifestyles and coffee taste preferences! I’ve tried a lot of different models and variations in the world of coffee cups and I am excited to share with you *drumroll* the cream of the crop.

Stojo

I don’t always like carrying a bag around but love having a coffee with me while I am out and about. I have a decent collection of reusable coffee cups and many of them are reserved for certain occasions. I love my Stojo cup when it comes to light packing and dog walks. It’s perfect for days you just want to carry a smaller bag that won’t fit a regular coffee cup, plus it folds flat enough to fit into larger pockets (like coats or sweatpants for example). I also really love packing the Stojo with me when I travel. The best part about the Stojo is that once you finish your coffee, you can tuck it away and out of sight. Not that they aren’t cute, though!

Keep Cup

I love the structure and color-ways of the Keep Cup. They’re great for businesses to customize and you may even find that your favorite coffee shop sells some with their logo. Even Whole Foods have their own Keep Cup you can purchase in-store. I’ve personally purchased mine from one of my favorite coffee shops in Bath called Society Cafe. It’s a nice grey/yellow combo so not only on-band for me but also shows I support the small business! You can also find some lovely color pre-decided combos (reminiscent of 80’s Patagonia fleece colors) on Amazon but you can also customize your own color combo (bonus points).

It’s also worth noting that Keep Cup offers many different variations of material to suit your taste. If you’re a die-hard Aussie-style coffee drinker there’s a glass Keep Cup for you in many sizes. If you’re a bit clumsy or prefer something lighter weight, go for the durable plastic Keep Cup. If you’re a slow drinker, check out there *brand new* thermal Keep Cup!

Porter Mug

If you're looking for something boujie to sit on your work desk, look no further. Style, luxury, sleek and tailored, the Porter mug says it all. If you’re not worried about carrying it around often, besides popping out of the office to the coffee shop or to the canteen, this mug will turn heads. I love its smooth silicone grip, weightiness (feels LEGIT) and ceramic nature. So long, typical office mug. This is the next best thing. You can find it in the US here or in the UK here

Chillys Coffee Cup

Slow drinker? This one’s for you with top-class thermal capabilities. The Chillys coffee cup is made of stainless steel, comes in three different sizes and multiple colors and patterns. What’s also great is that you can’t break this one and (if accounted for) will serve you forever. You can take a look at the options here and they’ll ship to quite a few countries outside the UK too.
